We are so excited to welcome Nappy Roots  as the headliner of the Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club Local Licks Music Festival! The festival this year is actually brought to you, in part, by Nappy Roots, as they have a special place in their hearts for the Boys and Girls Clubs around Kentucky, who serve the youth of the commonwealth in a positive way and our Presenting Sponsor, Banterra Bank.


The 2023 Local Licks music lineup features a diverse, strong showing of local acts as well. so you can expect a full day of wonderful music, great food, beverages, a family fun zone and more. There will be safe, family friendly activities for children throughout the day. The all-day music festival is FREE to the public, with donations accepted for the Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club. 1:20 – 2:20 – Family Bags

A relatively new band to the local music scene, Family Bags has set out to try and make the most beautiful music they can offer.  Featuring band members:  Fate McAfee, Melanie Davis-McAfee, Danny Brown, Brian Rader and Ian Moore



3:00 – 4:00 – The Weird Sisters

Who are the Weird Sisters... 

Gabrielle Lewis and Izaac Short. That's who.
The short answer is: "they met at a spaghetti dinner in 2015 and started to jam."
From that point forward, the name "The Weird Sisters" represented  their collaborative creative efforts in music, videos, parties, and beyond. First and foremost they are a DIY band looking to quit their day jobs.  



4:30 – 5:30 – Groove Lane

Groove Lane is one of those bands you just can't miss in good conscience. Their performances are loaded with incredible harmonies, funky bass riffs from the keys, stylistic tempo on the drums and an overall sense of love in all of their music. This will be a show you do not want to miss. 



6:00 – 7:00 – Callon B and the Hive

Callon B and The Hive is a seven piece Hip-Hop Jam band from Paducah Kentucky.  The group is a purposeful mix of artists who bring to the music making process distinctive backgrounds and styles that include rap, soul, a bit of jazz, elements of rock and a little pop.  Together they forge a path of discovery that each could not accomplish on their own  They are about chasing the elusive, musical unknown that can only be found by embarking on the hunt of versatility, offering a little something for everyone.



7:30 – 8:30 – Jaelon Harris

Jaelon Harris is a local musician from Paducah, KY who has truly made a name for himself in the local and regional scene. Surrounded by some of the best musicians a person could ask for, they cross multiple genres. From easy listening, to soul, R&B, and sometimes just downright funk. Audiences have raved about his previous debut performances in and around Paducah.

Nappy Roots represents everything we love about Kentucky and about southern hip hop. Their eclectic style is fresh, positive and always unexpected. They have achieved international acclaim for their music and have been featured on television, in films, on stage and on record across the country and around the globe. Songs like their upbeat anthem “Good Day”  have helped this supergroup forge their place in the pantheon of American music.
